Maintenance
Luxury Tiny Homes Facades Maintenance
Our luxury tiny homes facades are designed for low maintenance, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming staining, oiling, or other treatments typical of regular wood facades. Periodic cleaning and washing are sufficient to maintain their beautiful appearance. Generally, a pressure washer, soapy water, and a sponge will do the job.
INSTRUCTION FOR MAINTENANCE
- Dust and Dirt: Regularly clean the surface with water and a brush, wiping in the direction of the facade board pattern. For tougher dirt, use a pressure washer and soapy water if necessary.
- Plants and Leaves: Remove loose debris with a brush and soak with water. For tougher dirt, use a pressure washer and soapy water or a weak 2% aqueous solution of oxalic acid.
- Removing Snow and Ice: Use a brush or plastic shovel to remove snow and ice. To melt snow, road salt (calcium chloride or sodium chloride) can be used. Avoid using metal tools that can damage the surface.
- Salt Residue: Wipe loose salt residue with a brush and soak with water. To remove stains, use washing detergent and warm water. For more severe damage, let the surface dry and use fine sandpaper to remove the residue.
- Rust: Remove loose dirt with a brush and soak with water. Use detergent and warm water for stains. For tougher dirt, use a low-concentration aqueous solution of oxalic or phosphoric acid and rinse with water.
- Cement: Remove cement pieces with a brush and wash with a pressure washer. Use detergent and warm water to remove stains. For harder damage, let the surface dry and use fine sandpaper to remove the cement.
- Food and Drink Stains: Clean with soapy water or a detergent containing acetone or methanol, wiping with a brush parallel to the facade board pattern. For tougher stains, let the surface dry and use fine sandpaper if necessary.
- Color and Oil Stains: Use soapy water or a detergent containing acetone or methanol to clean, then wipe with a brush parallel to the facade board pattern. For tougher stains, let the surface dry and use fine sandpaper if necessary.
- Mould: Regular cleaning and washing prevent mould. Use a pressure washer and a brush parallel to the facade board pattern for removal. For tougher mould, use soapy water or special anti-mould detergents.
- Scratches: Light scratches will fade over time. For deeper scratches, use fine sandpaper, rubbing parallel to the facade board pattern.
Notes:
- Use neutral pH solvents and detergents. Stronger detergents may bleach and permanently affect the surface color.
- Do not use industrial chemicals, as they may permanently damage the surface.
- To prevent scratching, use only a soft-bristled brush.
- Use detergents containing oxalic acid and methanol at low concentrations.
- Sandpaper with grits between 40 and 100 is recommended. Do not use a grinding machine.
- Avoid sanding surfaces with wood patterns to preserve the relief surface.
- When using a pressure washer, keep the nozzle at least 300 mm away from the surface.
